Crazy cat lady gene: activated

Oh boy.

I’m in trouble.

These past three months have been a rollercoaster ride. And I’ll honestly tell you that I may or may not have had about 15 ‘I’m gonna die alone’ moments that may or may not have been fueled by drinking, or tears, or both.

After several of these binges I would find my search history slapping me in the face the next morning showing very telling signs of my apparent booze-infused obsession with getting myself a kitten. Because sad, lonely and dried-up-prunes of bitter ne’er-get-a-man women…just…need…cats. Lots of em. And I fit that bill. Apparently.

When I posted a blog earlier today it was (regardless of my DON’T DO IT-disclaimer) followed by a myriad of kind words that would speak in favor of me not necessarily becoming that crazy hermit. Or cat lady.

But I just received an email from one of the shelters I (apparently) approached to acquire such a beasty – confirming my appointment to have my house assessed.

Guess I’m getting a cat.

      1. Haha – make that 19. They’re only coming to see whether my house is good enough for one of their kittens. No actual purrrballs incoming yet!

And thank you (both for noticing and the compliment!)

  1. One cat doesn’t make you the crazy cat lady. When it gets to a cat for every room, you have a problem. On the other hand, we toured Earnest Hemingway’s home in Key West and he had a slew of cats whose descendents are still on property.

  2. I grew up with dogs… always gad dogs around.
Then, after mum died, I was lodging with a friend who had cats. While I was there, she got some kittens, and I watched them grow, grew deeper and deeper into my undiscovered catty place.
    To be honest,
cats, dogs, bunnywunnies, crazy peeps, werewolves, mermaids (have one friend who might have a little mermaid in her)…

      1. Soup and cats and duckywuckies and happy dances over the small, perfectly formed stuff that makes it all ok –

you’re every kind of friend. 🦒🦒🐺🦏🦏🐎🦍🐒🐵🦁🐯🦊🐱🐱🦉🦉🐰🐰🐁🐀🐭🐻🐫🐿🐿🐇🐠🦑🐳

(so many little animal dudes to choose from, I kinda got carried away)

  3. I loved my cat for 15 years and he loved me always sticking close when I had my sick in heart or body days and loving to be hugged. It just hurt to lose him. My new 6 month old kitten is not like Ricochet and having been taken from her mother too early it has been snip hill feral cat battle but if you continue to love them no matter the circumstance they will be happy back. Isobel likes sleeping under the covers with me and this morning she knew it was my phone that needed to be shut off this morning when it went off by her pulling on the charging cord. They keep you straight.
