Shallow
Barely here
A ripple in the water.
My heart whispers to yours
Its dirty little secret
In words left unspoken.
Too clear.
Too near.
To the core, to the centre,
To the goddamn middle
Of the soul that resides here.
Faint
Barely there
A sigh on the wind
My hand reaches for yours
Scared of a secret
That might leave me broken.
Ripples

You certainly have some talent, it is truly wonderful to read these poems, inspiring in fact ❤ truly wonderful

Zoe, this feels both deliciously, electrically intimate and intensely raw…
a truly beautiful combination.
I’m replaying it round and round like a little poetic helicopter…
Really, really love this.

I’m a little late in responding…but this a great bit of verse. I especially like how it plays into the structure – short and concise – almost breathless.
