It’s when I stopped looking
For you….
All the time,
Every time,
That I found the time.
No more staring at the driveway,
Or just glancing at the door,
Waiting,
Knowing you won’t come around no more.
No more staring at my phone,
Or looking for your name, on the list of who read what where,
Waiting,
Knowing you’re no longer there.
It’s when I stopped looking for my missing pieces
That I found the peace I needed
To put the pieces back together.
And now with all this time...
And all of these peaceful pieces?
I make puzzles.
Actual ones.
Because those pieces are supposed to fit,
And they’re meant to be complete.
Turns out I’m not that great at laying puzzles.
Guess that just leaves me puzzled.

Very witty and insightful words all woven together with an expert touch.
“It’s when I stopped looking for my missing pieces
That I found the peace I needed…”
Those lines in particular spoke to me. Fantastic work!

Many twists and turns. To me, a philosophical ride on a roller coaster … which also means this is very well done and I like it!

You’ve got a good touch for poetry…

Thank you – although I think it’s a stretch to call it actual poetry, seeing as I just jot things down without rhyme schemes or style or anything of the sort.
Arranging words like this – is that automatically poetry… I’ve always wondered

It has the rhythm, the free flow form of the poetic that comes from inside not by design – the most natural kind to my mind.
