I’ll see words aligned in the saddest of ways
Reading page after page of fictional history
And weep for her loss, his death and their love
But I’ll never cry for me.
I’ll listen to the tragic love-songs of a life
With battles the likes of which I’ll never see
And weep for their struggle, the battle and their fight
But I’ll never cry for me.
I’ll watch the darkest of scenes and gruesome deaths,
Or that Finn remembrance episode in Glee
And weep for his memory, the mourning and their pain
But I’ll never cry for me.
It’s not that there is nothing
Or that I never tried
And it’s not that I wouldn’t if I could
But no matter how much I want to…
I can never cry for me.

The poem carried a beautiful thought we can all resonate with at some point of life. Great work ❤️

I really like this Zoe, I know people like this. I cry over the strangest things but rarely cry for myself any more either. Sending Love and wishes for safety. Love Joni

Thank you!
I’d say writing is my outlet (as I suppose most of the readers round here can confirm). But I don’t know – tears and expression are not a necessary couple in my world, I guess. Swinging a bat on the softball field helps, as well!

sounds like healthy outlets but we need to clear our tear ducts sometimes too … not for ourselves but all those suffering at this time 🙂
